In this session, Michelle Belto will lead a round table discussion for artists-teachers. Before the conference, registered participants will be invited to submit their own topics for discussion. Some possibilities include: balancing studio time and teaching time….organizing for on-the-road workshops….and teaching techniques or teaching process.

Saturday Morning A 9:00am-10:00am: Wax + Paper= The Perfect Support for Encaustic
In this fast-paced hands-on class, you will be able to create your own perfect encaustic support! Michelle will show you just how versatile these light-weight and almost indestructible substrates can be and then provide you with freshly pressed paper, some glue and gator board and let you make the canvas that will guarantee an encaustic masterpiece!

BIO: Michelle Belto is a multi-faceted artist and teacher. Her work as a performer, educator and visual artist spans more than thirty years, three continents and thirteen publications. She divides her time between her two passions: teaching encaustic painting and studio art with an emphasis on hand-made paper and wax. Her new book, Wax + Paper, Techniques for Combining Handmade Paper and Encaustic Paint is scheduled for release by North Light Press in the Fall 2012.
